Videos and images shared on social media by witnesses captured the crash of an HAL Tejas aircraft at the Dubai Airshow.
The air show's schedule said a Tejas was due to fly around the time of the crash.
Newsweek has contacted the organizers of the Dubai Airshow for comment via email.

The crash occurred at around 2:10 p.m. local time. The fate of the pilot was not immediately clear.
Newsweek has contacted the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which manufactures the Tejas jet, for comment.
