By Michael GallagherShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberFor the second time in two days since announcing the hire of head coach Lane Kiffin, the LSU Tigers saw another highly touted recruit hit the transfer portal.
On Monday, four-star wide receiver Kylan Billiot —a top 100 recruit in the class of 2024 who was the No. 4-ranked player in Louisiana, the No. 13-ranked wide receiver, and the No. 62 overall recruit in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports — announced his intention to transfer.
The freshman WR didn’t play this season, but some speculated he wasn’t comfortable with the kind of offense LSU will play under Kiffin and new offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss Jr.

Watkins played in just one game this season — LSU’s 56-10 win over SE Louisiana on Sept. 20 — catching two passes for 21 yards.
He joins a talented pool of receivers already in the transfer portal — a group that includes several other former four-star wideouts like Billiot, Xavier Jordan (USC), Nick Marsh (Michigan State), and Chris Culliver (North Carolina).
LSU currently has the 11th-ranked recruiting class in the country. The Tigers have a few incoming options to replace the two receivers they’re losing including four-stars Jabari Mack and Kenny Darby, three-star Kervin Johnson Jr.
