In the hours leading up to Thursday night's game between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans, Prime Video play-by-play man Al Michaels made it clear he wants to remain in the broadcast booth next season.
“I feel really good right now,” Michaels said on SI Media with Jimmy Traina. “It’s been a good year, a lot of fun. And as I said, I love the people I’m working with. So, if I had to make a decision today, I would want to come back. It’s a two-way street here, they could tell me, ‘Hey, we got to move on, it’s time to make a transition.’ That could happen. But as of the moment, as we sit here on this mid-November afternoon, I feel really good, still love what I do and work with a tremendous crew. Yeah, I think at this moment in time, yeah, I would like to continue. Yes.”
While Michaels doesn't believe it's time to move on just yet, football fans might have something to say about that.

During Thursday night's contest, Michaels took significant heat on social media for his performance and the lack of energy in his calls - like a 45-yard touchdown run from Bills running back James cook.
"Al Michaels is... ummm... having a rough night," one person said.

"Feel like we literally have to say this every week, please retire al michaels, cook td was announced like the bills already have a 40 pt lead," added another after the Cook touchdown, before another said, "that might’ve been the weakest commentary i’ve ever heard for a touchdown, Al Michaels has 0 juice."

Just last week Michaels celebrated his 81st birthday and it doesn't appear like he plans to hang up the microphone any time soon.
