"I think we're really talented and we've got a lot of great players, but it's about being more consistent. I think it starts with me," Mahomes said after the team's 22-19 loss to the Denver Broncos. "There's times where I'm firing and we're moving the ball down the field at ease. But there's times where we go in spurts where I miss a throw or a [pass] protection call. We haven't been consistent enough to win games. It starts with me."
Now, as the Chiefs get set to face off against the 8-2 Indianapolis Colts, Mahomes will be facing a tougher test than initially thought.

Just a day before the game, Indianapolis announced that starting corner Charvarius Ward Sr and defensive end Tyquan Lewis will be back on the field. Ward hasn't played since a Week 5 win over the Las Vegas Raiders while battling a concerning concussion.
"CB Charvarius Ward Sr. (Concussion) has been activated from IR, and the questionable designation has been lifted. The questionable designation has also been lifted for DE Tyquan Lewis (Groin)," the team announced on social media.

The Colts enter Sunday's game against the Chiefs as a well-rested unit after coming off of their bye. Kansas City and Indianapolis kick off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
