By Joe EdwardsShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberU.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett has taken aim at Marjorie Taylor Greene for her shock announcement that she would be resigning from office following a falling out with President Donald Trump.
Asked by anchor Jake Tapper what she made of the representative from Georgia resigning, the Texas Republican: "Honestly, I was like, you've got to be kidding me.
"You're on the other side of the president for one week and you can't take the heat? Imagine what it is to sit in my shoes to not only be on the opposite side of him but to have people like her who are constantly fanning the flames of hate. Imagine what those threats look like when you are someone like me."
Asked about Greene suggesting in her video resignation that her disagreement with Trump over the Epstein files was behind their breakup, Crockett said: "I mean listen he's upset with Thomas Massie so he's gone after him, he's upset with Boebert, he's upset with any Republican that signed the discharge petition. But somehow they were able to weather the storm."So you know this really speaks to the fact that Marjorie, who has been an instigator of a lot of the hate that we've seen that relates to the MAGA movement."I don't know if she really fully understood how bad she was making it for other people and now that they're doing it to her, I just got to ask how is it that they can stand and you can't."
