Black Friday gaming laptop deals are here, and with them come some of the lowest prices I've ever seen on new generation devices. RTX 5060 machines are dropping under $1,000 and top-shelf RTX 5080 configurations of the best gaming laptops I've tested so far are seeing three-figure price cuts this week. And we're still two days away from the main event.

I've seen retailers dropping early Black Friday gaming laptop deals for weeks now, but things are really heating up this week. I'm not just throwing any old price cut into this guide, though. No I'm taking you through this year's offers live, highlighting only the machines and prices I would actually buy myself.

Should you buy a gaming laptop on Black Friday?

If you're in need of a new machine, Black Friday is a fantastic time to take the leap. This is generally when I see gaming laptops dropping to their lowest prices of the year, and while other categories like controllers, headsets, and mice might return to these record-lows in the months afterward, laptops hit different.

These rigs are cheapest right at the end of the year, when both retailers and brands are preparing to unleash a whole new batch in January. CES marks the first we'll hear of new generation machines, and sales on these then-older rigs will slow. Stores like to get ahead of this, dropping prices on the year's best and brightest in order to make room for the next generation.

Black Friday is absolutely the best time to buy a gaming laptop, I've always waited for holiday sales before upgrading and never regretted it.

OLED displays are better than ever this year

2025 isn't just the year of the RTX 50-Series, it's also the first time I've seen OLED displays adorning the majority of gaming laptop releases. These high-end panels were previously reserved for only the most expensive machines on the market, but they're sitting on rigs as cheap as $1,200 these days. If you're going all in on immersion and don't want to hook up to an external monitor it's well worth keeping an eye out.

Should you buy an RTX 40-Series gaming laptop this Black Friday?

This is the first year of RTX 50-Series gaming laptops sitting pretty on our shelves, but I'm not seeing too many previous-generation rigs still kicking around. In previous years these would have been easy picks for budget-friendly discounts, but right now I'm not so sure.

I've only seen a couple RTX 4050 gaming laptops on the shelves this Black Friday so far, and they're only about $100 less than their RTX 5050 counterparts. You're getting much better value from the current generation this year. I'd only opt for an older rig if you really want to spend as little as possible.

We're two days away from the main event but Black Friday gaming laptop deals are already in full swing. Larger retailers and individual brands are all live with their official offers now, though some prices are still jumping up and down the scale this week.
