Where will two-time All-Star Bo Bichette end up playing in 2026?
This is a big question with no answer in sight. After spending the first seven seasons of his big league career with the Toronto Blue Jays, Bichette would obviously create a nice ending if he stayed put. The Blue Jays just made it to Game 7 of the World Series. That's a sign that this core is worth keeping together.
But Bichette should have other suitors outside of Toronto. He's just 27 years old and is one of the best offensive middle infielders in baseball. In 2025, he slashed .311/.357/.483 with 18 homers, 94 RBIs, 44 doubles, and 78 runs scored in 139 games played. That's the type of production any team should want.
There are questions, though. Bichette played shortstop for the Blue Jays, outside of a brief stint at second base in the World Series. MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported on Nov. 11 that Bichette has received interest in free agency about second base and third base, as well as shortstop.
...That's another variable that will impact the 27-year-old in free agency. Also, it's part of the reason why an anonymous executive told ESPN's Jesse Rogers that Bichette's sweepstakes will be among the "most interesting."
"I'm just thinking about the years for Bichette and where he'll play and all that," the executive said to Rogers. "His contract will be most interesting to me."
The offseason still is young and there isn't much concrete information out there yet about Bichette, aside from the fact that Toronto is interested in a new deal.
