Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) is set for quite the rollercoaster ride next week, and not one of those nice, gentle family ones. We’re talking sharp incline up into the clouds before a treacherous plunge into the depths.
For the past few months, her partner Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) has been placing himself under immense pressure to live up to her ex-husband, Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood), after hearing her comment on how he was the better provider.
Deeply wounded by her words, Howie turned to criminality in order to provide the life that Kim so desperately desires.
After he and Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) won £6,000 on a horse race, the money was stolen by Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) in a bungled burglary. After discovering Oscar’s involvement, rather than turning him in, he blackmailed the young rogue and claimed the cash for himself.

In his second job as a parcel delivery man, he took to stealing the expensive contents of the packages in order to bolster his families finances.
Does Kim suspect anything? According to ‘Enders icon, Tameka, no: ‘I don’t think Kim has noticed anything really because she’s been so consumed with everything that’s going on with her and her career. To her, Howie is just working harder and she likes her man doing that.
‘She had the good life with Vincent, who was always spoiling her, and it’s taken Howie a while to get there, but now it’s happy days, as far as Kim knows. There have been clues, like when Howie paid to replace all the camera equipment that Kim reversed over and destroyed. But Kim had no reason to think that he was lying when he said he got a bonus or did some extra shifts.’
Next week sees Howie propose to Kim and she’s utterly delighted – especially in the wake of her ‘cancellation’: ‘Kim has been really down – the Kimfluencer did not expect to be cancelled! She’s not been herself at all, so for Howie to spring a big, romantic surprise like this lifts her up.
‘Howie plays a blinder because he gets the kids involved and does this big, public proposal at the Christmas lights switch on. He puts Kim in the spotlight, which is where she loves to be. Kim loves love, she loves joy and the ring is amazing, so the fact that she feels treated and seen by her man makes the whole proposal perfect.

‘They have come a long way since he was impersonating Vincent! They are sharing their lives and they have a beautiful, blended family and Kim likes that part of the relationship. Howie proposing is the icing on the cake and Kim is looking forward to a great 2026.’
Lurking in the background, however, is Patrick’s son, Anthony (Nicholas Bailey), who’s suspicion has been seriously aroused by Howie.
‘Kim has noticed that Anthony and Howie aren’t the best of friends, but she doesn’t think it’s anything serious. It’s just boys being boys and a bit of bickering, from what she’s seen at this point,’ Tameka said.

Kim immediately throws herself into planning an engagement party befitting a diva such as herself: ‘Kim is all over it – and she is thinking big! The bling is going to be on everything.
‘As the party connoisseur, this is what she’s good at and having parties and weddings to plan makes her feel like herself again. This is an occasion and Kim loves an occasion, especially one that means so much because it’s all about her!’
Still, with plenty of twists to come, how would Kim feel if the truth behind Howie’s recent financial ascent were to come to light? ‘Kim would be upset and be more upset about Howie lying than anything else. It has taken her a long time to trust him and to build a life with their families coming together.
‘It would be a real blow to her and she would question everything else that’s gone on. Kim will feel so let down because Howie is not the person that she thought he was.’

…what about if she found out about Howie’s role in what happened to Patrick? ‘Patrick is family and family means a lot to Kim so when somebody hurts her by doing something to hurt her family, it cuts really deep.
