Radiohead has announced that they are ‘gutted’ after postponing their Copenhagen gig, just hours before they were set to perform.
The band announced that their lead singer, Thom Yorke, 57, was unable to perform and cancelled their gigs scheduled for Monday and Tuesday evening.
It was announced on their social media that the singer had an ‘extreme’ throat infection, and it was ‘impossible’ for him to sing.
A message to fans on social media read: ‘We are devastated to have to postpone these two shows at such short notice, but Thom has been diagnosed with an extreme throat infection which has made it impossible for him to sing.
‘Treatment is underway, and we’re hopeful Thom will recover in time to play the final two Copenhagen shows on Dec 4th and 5th, and all four Berlin shows, starting on Dec 8th.
‘We have been so blown away by the audience reactions on these dates and are loving being back on stage again; needless to say, we feel terrible that we have been forced to postpone these shows.’

Many were left disappointed by this announcement, taking to social media to complain.
‘Thank you for informing us like two hours before we go to the stadium. Btw, we flew from Greece,’ said mariatraiforou.
‘OMG. I travelled here and spent So much money for this! 😢’ said nanda_ldn.
‘Flew from San Francisco, CA to see you tonight. We will be coming back in two weeks. Get better soon, Thom. We love you,’ said mizzmarisss.
‘Canceling when people were already lined up at the merch stand for tonight’s show is real downer. Flew from Canada and spent a week of hotels and flights with my eldest son (his first concert) for this including taking one of only two weeks of annual leave and a week of missed school.
‘Obviously wishing a speedy recovery but when your favourite band only plays limited dates in a few cities for the first time in seven years, we can’t simply look forward to the rescheduled dates as we can’t afford this type of experience twice,’ said julien.brazeau.

Many fans also wished Thom a speedy recovery, hoping that he’d be back touring soon.
In October last year, Thom stormed off stage after being heckled by concert-goers. The singer was performing on his solo tour in Australia when his performance was interrupted by a protester asking him to ‘condemn the Israeli genocide of Gaza.’

After a brief interaction, he then left the stage.
This comes after a 2017 performance in Tel Aviv, Israel, where Radiohead was slammed by Palestinian supporters for playing there despite pressure from fans to adopt the cultural boycott.
It was revealed that the Copenhagen dates are set to be rescheduled to later in the month, on December 15 and 16, respectively.
They also told fans that tickets would be automatically transferred and refunds would be available.
