Sony’s flagship OLED TV has dropped to a record-low price. You can now get the 55-inch Sony Bravia 8 II for $1,998 (was $2,599) at Amazon, a 23% discount on the company's best OLED model.

This price drop brings the Bravia 8 II in line with its flagship OLED competition, specifically the Samsung S95F, which is selling for nearly the same amount. The 55-inch Bravia 8 II launched for $2,999 back in April, so Amazon’s discount represents a big Cyber Monday deal.

In our Sony Bravia 8 II review, we awarded it five out of five stars for picture quality and commented that its QD-OLED panel – the same type found in the Samsung S95F – delivers much better-than-average brightness for an OLED TV. We also found its upscaling of standard dynamic range content to be outstanding in our tests, and appreciated its ‘Perfect for PlayStation 5’ features, which make it a perfect match for PS5 gaming.

Sony TVs regularly rank among the best TVs for sound quality, and the Bravia 8 II is no exception. Actuators positioned behind the TV’s OLED panel transform the entire screen into a speaker, giving the sound an impressively full quality. Sony’s Voice Zoom 3 feature effectively boosts dialogue levels in movies and TV shows alike, and the Acoustic Center Sync feature lets you use it as a center channel speaker when paired with a compatible Sony soundbar like the Sony Bravia Theater Bar 6.

The Bravia 8 II also has a sleek design with two-position support feet, which can clear plenty of space for a soundbar. Sony TVs tend to sit at the higher end of the price spectrum, but this Cyber Monday deal makes it a much more tempting option.
