By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Green Bay Packers could be getting back one of their most important playmakers in wide receiver Jayden Reed. Reed has been out since Week 2, and now the team has announced some massive news on his return timeline.

After a 2024 season saw Reed bring in 857 yards and six touchdowns, the star receiver began 2025 in a very rough manner. The receiver suffered a broken clavicle against the Washington Commanders, and it was reported he would miss six to eight weeks.
The initial injury was only the broken collarbone, but it was revealed that Reed would also undergo surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his foot. Due to needing both surgeries, the star Packers playmaker has been sidelined for over two months.
Now, the Packers have dropped some major news regarding his return timeline.

Per multiple reports, Reed has returned to practice for the first time since his collarbone injury. Also, the Packers have opened their official 21-day practice window.

Oftentimes, it takes players multiple days or even weeks to return to the field once their practice window is opened up, but Reed appears to be ready to practice, which is a great sign.
The Packers have a 6-3-1 record, and they are looking to keep pace in the NFC North. They remain one game behind the first-place 7-3 Chicago Bears. With Reed potentially returning soon, this could give quarterback Jordan Love the boost he needs to truly get the offense going.
Romeo Doubs leads the receiver group with 499 yards and four touchdowns through the regular season thus far. Behind him is Tucker Kraft with 489 yards and six touchdowns. Unfortunately, Kraft suffered a torn ACL, ending his breakout season early.
Apart from the Doubs and Kraft, no other pass catcher has over 300 yards. Christian Watson has returned from his own significant injury and has amassed 234 yards and two touchdowns in four games thus far.
Watson is starting to get going, and adding Reed to the mix would be huge for the Packers' offense. Assuming Reed can get going as fast as Watson has, the Green Bay pass catching game could be elevated immediately.
