Dallas Cowboys All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs has had a tough 2025 season. The former interceptions leader has missed four games due to a concussion and a knee injury. Now, owner Jerry Jones has offered a brutal assessment of Diggs' 2025 season thus far.

Diggs missed multiple games in 2024 due to recovery from his torn ACL that occurred in 2023. He also dealt with a groin injury. Essentially, the star cornerback has been hampered by injuries since his breakout season in 2022.

Heading into 2025, there was hope that Diggs could rebound in a big way. However, lingering concussion symptoms have now led to his being sidelined for four games.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke about Diggs coming back healthy, and what it would mean for the team. He also cast some doubt about Diggs' ability to play at a high level again, offering a brutal assessment of the corner's 2025 season.

When speaking to 105.3 The Fan, Jones divulged on whether he thinks the defense will be better when Diggs is healthy enought to play.

“I think if Diggs plays at the level that he’s expected to play, yes. A big yes. It’s just amazing what additional healthy talent can do for your execution and game plan. And frankly, the production of the players that are playing around that returning player. So, the answer is a big yes there," Jones said.

Despite the glowing confidence from Jones about Diggs' return meaning the team can get better, he also revealed there are concerns about whether or not the defender can still make an impact.

"I don’t know. No one knows. We’ll just see how it goes. He’s obviously been limited, so we’ll just see how that goes," Jones said.

Jones has never been one to mince words about whether something on the team is not working. That appears to be the case here. Though the Cowboys' owner understands that Diggs has been limited due to multiple injuries, returning to a high level will just be something that has to be proven on the field.

Through six games that Diggs has been on the field, he has posted a 68.8 completion percentage and 148.7 passer rating, while giving up three touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. Clearly, there are multiple struggles there.

The Cowboys' defense has been a pain point in 2025, but the team showcased some huge grit in their win against the Las Vegas Raiders. With a showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles looming, Dallas will need to find a way to ensure they can stop Jalen Hurts and company, potentially without the help of Diggs.
