By Evan MasseyShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberKirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are once again looking the part of a top-tier national championship contender. Following their win over the Charlotte 49ers this week, the team stands at 10-1.
Heading into this week, the Bulldogs were ranked No. 4 in the country. Smart has a very real chance to win another title.
As for the future, Georgia is always one of the top recruiting teams in the nation. One of their big prize gets for the 2026 recruiting class is five-star quarterback Jared Curtis out of Nashville, Tennessee.

While receiving a commitment from Curtis was a huge win for Smart and the Bulldogs, it sounds like he might not stick with Georgia.
...Curtis has still been receiving interest from other schools around the country. Now, there is one team emerging who could steal Curtis away from the Bulldogs.
Tom Loy of 247 Sports has now predicted that the Vanderbilt Commodores will swoop in and steal Curtis away from Georgia. Curtis would instantly become Vanderbilt's replacement for senior quarterback Diego Pavia.
"I believe Jared Curtis is going to flip to Vanderbilt between now and Signing Day," Loy wrote. "I'm officially calling my shot."
So far this season, the Commodores have gone 9-2. They were the No. 14 team in the country entering this week and came through with a dominant 45-17 win over the Kentucky Wildcats.
Vanderbilt will have a chance to give themselves a great chance at getting into the playoffs next week. The Commodores have a massive showdown on the schedule, hitting the road to take on the ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

Needless to say, Curtis has a difficult decision to make. Will he stay with the Bulldogs and potentially be the future under center for one of the most storied programs in college football? Or, will he decide to flip his commitment to one of the top up-and-coming teams in the nation?
No one knows the answer to that question right now, but Loy clearly thinks that a commitment flip is coming. If that does happen, it would be a crushing blow for Georgia and Smart. More news is likely to come out about this situation in the coming weeks.
